Shannon wins trial for Seattle School District

by Brian Augenthaler

Shannon recently achieved a defense verdict for the Seattle School District in an employment retaliation lawsuit.  After a nearly four week, fully remote trial in King County Superior Court, the jury of twelve unanimously found the District did not retaliate against its former employee.  This case had previously been dismissed on summary judgment, but the decision was overturned by the Court of Appeals, and part of the case was remanded for trial.  However, the District stayed the course and ultimately the jury agreed that its actions were lawful and not motivated by retaliation.
