Defense verdict for Jeremy Culumber in double-taser case!

by KBM Lawyers

On January 13th, Jeremy Culumber obtained a defense verdict on behalf of a Tukwila Patrol Sergeant and the City of Tukwila.  The Plaintiff, a 25 year-old single mother, claimed she was harassed, assaulted, and illegally tased multiple times until she urinated on herself, after being stopped by the Patrol Sergeant to investigate a minor driving offense.  She alleged claims of excessive force under the 4th Amendment, as well as state law claims of battery and outrage. The Plaintiff claimed extensive physical and psychological damages, presenting expert testimony that she suffered from chronic posttraumatic stress disorder as a result of the tasing. After a 4-day trial, the 9-person jury unanimously rejected Plaintiff’s allegations, found that the Sergeant’s use of force was justified, and vinidcated both the Patrol Sergeant and the City on all claims.
